Anthony Bridgerton – Bridgerton Characters

Who's the eldest Bridgerton boy and current Viscount Bridgerton?

To quote Lady Whistledown, Anthony Bridgerton is a Rake, with a capital R. Viscount Bridgerton is one of the most eligible bachelors in the London marriage mart, but he has no interest in looking for a wife this season, much to the dismay of his mother, Violet Bridgerton.

The eldest son of the Bridgerton family was born in september of 1784. He had the happiest of childhoods, wreaking havoc in the country with his brothers, sisters and loving parents. He then boarded Eton where he met Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings and later went to Oxford

At the tender age of 18, he sees himself inherit the title, after the sudden death of his father. Burdened with so many responsabilities, our beloved viscount never overlooked any of his duties, but looked over his pleasures too, creating a mighty reputation as a rake – or rather, a Rake. And when it comes to marriage, he knows that it’ll be just like another contract: his heart must not be involved.

Anthony is a man who is used to getting his way. He is rich, he is powerful and he is handsome. He is quite short-tempered, but you can imagine why: when someone has seven younger siblings to take care of and protect, you’d also like to kill someone.

Coveted by both respectful and infamous women – the first completely off-limits, the later his playground – Anthony can choose whoever he wants. But don’t expect long-lasting love, because his family is his only passion.

At least, for now. Afterall, in the 1813 season he has his hands full trying to avoid matchmaking mamas (his own included) and keep one particular friend hand’s off from his sister Daphne.
